American Red Cross of LouisvilleLouisville, Kentucky
This project was an addition to the Red Cross Headquarters built in the 1960s. It served as the primary collection, storage and distribution facility for blood, plasma and platelets.
Pale brick and precast concrete were used to relate to the Architectural elements of the original building. The original building was designed without windows to make it more secure as an emergency center. Windows were incorporated to add light into the new addition to make giving blood a somewhat more pleasent experiance.
